Dr. Philip Widmair, Physiotherapist
Physiotherapist – Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation in Meran
Experience and Education
From an early age, I practiced a wide range of sports, with a particular focus on mountain disciplines such as skiing, trail running, and climbing.
This passion led me to develop, already at a young age, a strong interest in musculoskeletal injuries, their prevention, and their rehabilitative treatment. Over time, my growing attention to people’s health and well-being motivated me, after completing high school, to pursue a degree in physiotherapy.
In 2022, I began my studies at fh gesundheit in Innsbruck, which I completed in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies.
During my university years in the dynamic and sports-oriented city of Innsbruck, I had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge and gain experience in the fields of orthopedics, traumatology, and sports rehabilitation. During this time, I clearly realized that I wanted to specialize in these areas: supporting people after an injury or in the presence of pain, and guiding them step by step back to daily life and, subsequently, to sports activity, is what motivates me the most.
After graduating, I returned to South Tyrol, where I discovered the Dolomiti Athletic Center. Its patient-centered rehabilitation approach — which includes comprehensive support from the very beginning through to the return to sport — fully reflects my professional philosophy.
In my work, I always place the person at the center, considering their needs, goals, and lifestyle. Each rehabilitation program is tailored individually, through personalized physiotherapy interventions, with the aim of achieving the best possible results in an effective and long-lasting way.
